Bali - Indonesia

Alila Manggis, Candidasa

For four days, the wonderful team at Alila Manggis made us feel less like guests and more like family. Their genuine kindness, warm smiles and quiet generosity turned an already beautiful place into one we'll always remember. It's the people, more than anything, who leave the greatest impression, and for that, we're incredibly grateful.

Balinese Purification Ceremony

Some moments simply can't be planned. On our first day at the resort, we wandered down to the beach and, quite by chance, came across a traditional Balinese purification ceremony taking place at a local temple. The air was filled with the scent of incense, the sound of gentle prayers and flowing water as families gathered in quiet reflection. Standing respectfully to one side, I watched the ceremony unfold, struck by its beauty, grace and deep sense of spirituality. It was one of those unexpected travel moments that reminds you the most meaningful experiences are often happen when you least expect them.
