Exhibition, Book Design and Publishing

A current collaboration with a Dutch photojournalist who has spent over 30 years documenting people asleep across the world.
The project explores sleep as a universal human condition — observed in public and private spaces, across cultures, climates, and circumstances. The images are often quiet, sometimes unexpected, and at times deeply human — revealing vulnerability, routine, and the strange poetry of rest within everyday life.
My role in the project includes:
-Editing and refining a vast archive of images
- Developing narrative structure and thematic cohesion
- Designing a photobook / zine format that reflects the intimacy of the subject
- Advising on exhibition direction and presentation
The intention is to realise both a publication and an exhibition in the near future — ensuring the work is resolved thoughtfully, while retaining its raw, observational quality.

A Portrait of Cars – Road Warriors of Fremantle is a photobook and exhibition by Western Australian photographer Ben Reynolds, created in collaboration with the City of Fremantle.

The project documents Fremantle’s unique car culture through environmental portraits and personal stories, exploring the connection between people, place, identity, and the vehicles they drive.

Shot primarily on film over more than a decade, the work celebrates the nostalgia, character, and community spirit of Fremantle through photography, storytelling, video, and exhibition installations presented as part of Fremantle’s cultural events program.

50 Unknown is a street photography project by Western Australian photographer Ben Reynolds, exploring the quiet theatre of everyday urban life through observation, light, shadow, and human interaction.

In 2010, Ben studied film photography at Perth TAFE, where he was heavily influenced by the work of acclaimed Australian photographer Trent Parke. Inspired by documentary-style storytelling and candid observation, he developed 50 Unknown as a major project, which later culminated in both a photobook and exhibition as part of the FotoFreo in 2011.

The project documents anonymous moments on the streets of Perth through candid, unguarded encounters and fleeting interactions. Through shadow, atmosphere, gesture, and cinematic light, the work explores themes of presence, anonymity, and the quiet narratives embedded within everyday life.

Rather than focusing on specific individuals, 50 Unknown invites viewers to create their own interpretations from fragments of passing moments — strangers crossing paths, conversations unfolding, and unnoticed scenes that reveal the poetry of ordinary urban life.

A Portrait of Cars – Road Warriors of Cottesloe is a photobook and exhibition by Western Australian photographer Ben Reynolds, created in collaboration with the Town of Cottesloe.

The project documents Cottesloe’s coastal car culture through environmental portraits and personal stories, exploring the relationship between people, identity, nostalgia, and place.

Shot primarily on film over more than a decade, the work captures the atmosphere of Cottesloe’s streets, beaches, and community through photography, storytelling, and multimedia exhibition elements celebrating the character and lifestyle of the iconic coastal suburb.

Stirlings – Above & Beyond was a solo photography exhibition by Western Australian photographer Ben Reynolds, presented at the Vancouver Arts Centre in October 2014. The exhibition explored the dramatic landscapes and aerial perspectives of the Stirling Ranges through large-format landscape photography.

Alongside the exhibition, Ben conducted a series of photography workshops at the Arts Centre, including children’s photography workshops, beginner photography classes focused on transitioning from Auto to Manual camera settings, and intermediate creative landscape photography workshops.

The exhibition and workshops formed part of Ben’s ongoing passion for combining photographic storytelling, education, and community engagement through visual arts practice.
